Leadership and Power in International Development: Navigating the Intersections of Gender, Culture, Context, and Sustainability (2018), which I co-edited with Dr. Julia Storberg-Walker, Associate Professor at George Washington University, won the 2018 R. Wayne Pace HRD Book of the Year Award of the Academy of Human Resource Development (AHRD). The book includes personal stories of international development professionals who reflect upon their leadership successes and challenges and proposes a model of leading in international development that highlights the importance of power, connecting, and paradox.
